Protrusio acetabuli following pelvic irradiation

This report documents extensive symmetric bony changes with acetabular protustion and femoral head deformities after relatively small amounts (3,800 rad) of therapeutic pelvic radiation. Literature review revealed only one other case report of bilateral protrusio acetabuli secondary to irradiation, and this followed large doses of 7,000 rad.
