Mineral production in Illinois in 1970

Journal Article · · Ill. State Geol. Surv., Circ.; (United States)
OSTI ID:6185417
The value of minerals produced in Illinois in 1970 totaled $716.3 million. This amount was $23.4 million higher than the value of the 1969 record production, and 1970 marked the fifth successive year that a new all-time high in value was attained in mineral production in the state. Increases in the total values of coal, stone, sand, gravel, fluorspar, zinc, and lead from 1969 to 1970 more than offset the declines in total values of crude oil, cement, clay products, and other materials in the same period. The quantity and value of minerals produced in Illinois in 1970, and in other years, are summarized in the tables and maps of this report.
