Consideration is given to performance evaluation, data collection and characterization, modeling and simulation, and novel concepts of signal and image processing systems. Particular attention is given to nonlinear adaptive filter for closed-loop fire control, algorithm evaluation for an infrared target-detection test bed, image characterization for automatic target recognition algorithm evaluations, background characterization techniques for target detection using scene metrics and pattern recognition, advanced sensor-simulation capability, synthetic visible imagery for multiattribute target identification, analytical modeling for automatic target recognition performance evaluation, a nonintrusive method for removal of vibration from aero-optic measurements, application of the mathematical theory of evidence to the image cueing and image segmentation problem, and a new family of miniaturized laser devices.
