In order to determine the strength indices of the coke and the quality of the chemical coking products, experiments were conducted with a one-time charge of 25 kg, a coking time of 7 h and a final coking temperature of 1000/sup 0/C. The coke was quenched with water and subjected to standardized testing. The wastes were added by a briquetting method. The quality of the coke is improved with the addition of the wastes. The method permits an increase in the bulk density of the charge by 60 to 100 kg/cm/sup 3/, an improvement in the technological properties, an increase in the production of coke by 9 to 10 thousand ton/h and an improvement in the production of coal tar by 5 to 6 thousand tons/y with an improvement in quality.
