The Savannah River Section and the Remote Systems Technology Division of the American Nuclear Society, along with co-sponsoring organizations, are pleased to present the proceedings of the Third Topical Meeting on Robotics and Remote Systems. This document contains .. technical papers that were presented in 12 slide presentation sessions and two interactive poster sessions covering a wide spectrum of technology and applications from basic remote systems to sophisticated mobile robots. This third volume of ANS topical meeting proceedings, along with volumes from two previous very successful meetings at Gatlinburg, Tennessee (1984), and Pasco, Washington (1987), make up an outstanding reference series covering the advancements in robotics and remote handling.
