The yield of the nuclear reactions in discharges in a mixture of D/sub 2/ and /sup 3/He is studied in the MG device. Experiments are carried out with various helium concentrations. Analysis of the neutron yield Y/sub n/ as a function of the deuterium partial pressure shows that the basic characteristics of the discharge under MHD conditions remain the same when /sup 3/He is added to the deuterium. The proton yield from the reactions D+D=p (3 MeV)+T and /sup 3/He+D=p (14.7 MeV)+/sup 4/He is measured by exposing nuclear emulsions in a special pinhole camera. The ratio of the numbers of protons at 3 and 14.7 MeV for a given discharge yields the effective ion temperature in the reaction zone: T/sub i/> or =5 keV.
