Information on various aspects of energy resources and development of Utah are indicated on this map. Various types of geological formations present in the state are indicated. Types of oil impregnated rock deposits, oil shale deposits, and outcroppings, as well as the ages of oil and gas producing formations are labelled. Locations of oil fields and pipelines, gas fields and pipelines, oil refineries (labelled as to capacity), and natural-gas processing plants are all indicated. Types of coal reserves, location of coal mines, and status of the mines are all included. Uranium mining districts, areas within the districts, mine sites and current status of the mines, and uranium mills are designated. Electric generation plants with type of generation, substations, major transmission lines, and future transmission lines are marked. The locations of hot springs, known geothermal resource areas, and areas potentially valuable for geothermal water are also indicated.
