Catalytic hydrotreatment studies with model compounds. Quarterly report, July 1-September 30, 1984

Technical Report ·
OSTI ID:6170166
From studies at 375/sup 0/C, and 6.9 MPa on a presulfided NiMo/Al/sub 2/O/sub 3/ catalyst it is shown that water vapor moderately increases the hydrodenitrogenation rate of quinoline, in either the presence or absence of H/sub 2/S. It does not significantly affect hydrogenation reactions in the reaction network but increases hydrogenolysis. Several changes in product distribution upon addition of water suggest that it increases the catalyst acidity. 11 references, 18 figures, 2 tables.
