Book ·
OSTI ID:6168930

Particulate removal involves the separation of coarse or fine particles from an air stream. Although generally limited to controlling industrially created emissions, particulate control equipment also has wide applications for air cleaning and recovery of usable substances inside the plant. Some of the newer dust control devices described are: centrifugal contractors; charged droplet scrubbers;condensation scrubbers; diffusion pump scrubbers; electrified filters; fluidized bed filtering devices; panel bed filters; and wet electrostatic precipitators. Special emphasis is placed on the economics involved.
