Time-dependent Hartree--Fock phase: unique implication of variational principle. [Unique solution]
The time-dependent Hartree-Fock (TDHF) variational principle is shown to yield a unique solution with no indeterminacy in its time-dependent phase. The long-standing contrary opinion arises from an impermissible restriction to norm-preserving variations. 9 references.
