Optimization of time characteristics of photomultipliers for kinetic single-quantum spectrometers

Dividers for photomultiplier dynode systems are described that increase the multiplication factor by one order of magnitude, reduce the spread of flight times of individual electron avalanches by a factor of 2, and eliminate through optimum focusing the effect of photoelectron flight past a dynode.
