Steam process for the gasification of coal

Book ·
OSTI ID:6153480
Experimental and theoretical results indicate the validity of the University of Illinois's coal-gasification process that uses superheated steam as the reaction heat source. The convection of hot steam through the reactor is an effective heating mechanism for the gasification of Illinois coals and chars. The correlations obtained between the simplified analytical model and the experimental results demonstrate the validity of the basic rate equation and the assumptions used in modelling the process.
