Growth in world coal trade slows in 1981

In 1981, world coal trade rose by 7.2%. This was less than the growth rates of 11.3% in 1980 and 14.6% in 1979. However, steam coal trade increased by about 17%. These figures are then analysed by country. Details are given of the destinations and quantities of exports from the 7 major exporting counries: USA, Australia, South Africa, USSR, West Germany, Canada, and Poland. Similarly, information is provided about eight of the principal importing countries.
