Results of studies of hydrothermodynamics, water quality, nonfisheries and fisheries biology, supplemented by water chemistry, phytoplankton, periphyton, zooplankton, and benthic macroinvertebrate collections are presented and evaluated. The objective was to examine the effects of thermal discharges from the Colbert Steam Electric Plant, situated in northwest Alabama on Pickwick Reservoir of the Tennessee River, on the aquatic biota of the Tennessee River.
