{ital J}=2{r arrow}3, 3{r arrow}4, 4{r arrow}5, and 5{r arrow}6 transitions in the oblate symmetric top molecule cobalt tricarbonyl nitrosyl were measured using a Flygare--Balle type pulsed beam microwave spectrometer. {ital K}=0 and {ital K}=3 transitions were observed for {ital J}=3{r arrow}4 and 4{r arrow}5. Hyperfine structure due to {sup 59}Co and {sup 14}N nuclear quadrupole coupling interactions was well resolved. The measured quadrupole coupling strengths are {ital eQq}{sub {ital cc}} ({sup 59}Co)=35.14(30) MHz and {ital eQq}{sub {ital cc}} ({sup 14}N)={minus}1.59(10). Measured rotation and distortion constants are {ital B}{sub 0}=1042.1590(4) MHz and {ital D}{sub {ital j}} =0.17(8) kHz. The measured {ital B} value is 4% smaller than the {ital B} value calculated from electron diffraction data. Spin--rotation and a quadrupole distortion term were also obtained for {sup 59}Co.
