Generation cost curves including energy storage

Many questions in utility planning and rate design require evaluating the marginal cost to meet hourly loads. This paper presents an efficient calculation method which is consistent with modern probabilistic production costing methods (e.g. Booth/Baleriaux or Gram-Charlier series) and which can incorporate the variety of generating technologies, thermal, limited energy, and storage, used in modern utility systems.
