Production development in the South of Monagas State

Lagoven, as instructed by Petroleos de Venezuela, is conducting planning studies for the production of extra-heavy crudes from the Orinoco Belt in the South of Monagas State. It is the aim of this work to give an overview of the magnitude and complexity of the development tasks of the Orinoco Belt and to point out the necessity of continuous exchange of information and cooperation between the public and private sectors involved in the project. It is estimated that it will take 10 years from the beginning of planning until commercial production is reached, if accelerated planning is continued and no delays occur.
