A search for a fourth-generation quark with /vert bar//ital Q//vert bar/=/ital e//3 hasbeen made with the VENUS detector at the KEK /ital e//sup +/e/sup /minus//collider TRISTAN. Multihadron events with a spherical shape or containingisolated leptons were studied. There is no evidence for an excess production ofsuch events in /ital e//sup +/e/sup /minus// collision at ..sqrt../ital s/=56--57 GeV and a lower limit on the mass is 27.5GeV//ital c//sup 2/ at the 95% C.L.
