The Hallet Field, Hodgeman Co., Kans., is located on the western flank of the Central Kansas uplift. Truncated Mississippian rocks dip westward into the Hugoton embayment. The wells with highest initial production are on ''knolls'' of eroded Mississippian rocks within the N.-S. trending anticlinal structure. The productive area of the Mississippian reservoir is approximately 1,000 acres. Production seems to be restricted to the Spergen-Warsaw strata, which averages 64 ft in thickness. The uppermost 5 to 6 ft is characterized by light-gray to buff, fine to coarsely crystalline, occasionally vuggy dolomite, with some white and pink, opaque to subopaque chert. Below this zone, the lithology is quite similar but contains a few thin layers of medium to coarsely crystalline gray limestone. At present the Hallet Field has 13 producing wells. Cumulative production to December 31, 1964 was 1,204,915 bbl of oil.
