cap alpha. spectroscopic factors in /sup 40/Ca

Journal Article · · Phys. Rev., C; (United States)

In the /sup 36/Ar(/sup 6/Li,d)/sup 40/Ca reaction, at a bombarding energy of 17 MeV, angular distributions have been measured for all levels below 7 MeV excitation. Unnatural-parity states are weak. For natural-parity states, the angular distributions are characteristic of direct ..cap alpha.. stripping, even as far backward as 160/sup 0/ for the strong states. The data have been analyzed with zero-range distorted-wave Born-approximation in order to extract relative ..cap alpha..-particle spectroscopic factors.
