Table-lookup algorithms for elementary functions and their error analysis

Table-lookup algorithms for calculating elementary functions offer superior speed and accuracy when compared with more traditional algorithms. With careful design, we show that it is feasible to implement table-lookup algorithms in hardware. Furthermore, we present a uniform approach to carry out tight error analysis for such implementations. 7 refs.
