Competitiveness of Rhizobium japonicum in the nodulation of soybean. Progress report
Technical Report
·
OSTI ID:6131900
The main objectives of the study were to determine the specific characteristics that make one strain of Rhizobia japonicum more competitive in its ability to nodulate soybean than another strain. No significant differences were identified between the strains tested with respect to relative rates of infection, however, there are significant differences in efficiency of infection. These differences in efficiency may be important in determining the outcome of direct competition between strains.
