Conference ·
OSTI ID:6128903

The present conference on applications of artificial intelligence (AI) encompasses computer vision, knowledge acquisition and representation, model-based vision, neural networks, robot planning, knowledge-based systems, path planning, image analysis, AI in aerospace systems, and semiconductor manufacturing systems. Specific issues addressed include object detection using scale space, nonmonotonic scene interpretation, 3D object reconstruction from multiple stereo views, recognition via alignment using aspect models, target detection in a neural-network environment, the optimization of precedence-constraint robot assembly sequences, and free-space representations for robot-path planning. Also addressed are an edge-detection method, an approach to elemental task learning, issues in building intelligent grasping systems, an oral task-oriented dialogue for air-traffic controller training, and the experimental optimization of the neuronlike network applied for the processing of moving images.
