This presents the results of a study of heat transfer during the steady-state pool-boiling of subcooled water at atmospheric pressure. The boiling curves were obtained for various locations on the horizontal surface of a 10 or 15 mm disk facing upwards for 0-85 K of subcooling, and for the discrete bubble regime up to a second burnout point. The existence is confirmed of a unique phenomena in which the heat flux starts to increase rapidly beyond the burnout value in a partial film-boiling regime.
