Electron penetration in a dielectric

Precise measurements of the average penetration depth of electrons in the energy range 20--50 keV are reported. The measurements are performed by the ''sandwich'' method. Charging of the dielectric by the electron beam affects measurements; the sandwich method is useful for studying this phenomenon.
