This publication is the fiscal 1980 annual report of the Water Resources Center, Institute for Research on Land and Water Resources, The Pennsylvania State University. In its reporting of the OWRT funded allotment and matching grant research projects, the report satisfies the reporting requirements of the office of water research and technology under P.L. 88-379. In addition to the director's summary statement and a narrative report for each project, the training and education aspects of the water research program under P.L. 88-379 are reported. Numerous broad lines of research are reported with concentrations in the following areas: water supply, water quality management and control, planning for future resource development, water conservation, water quality financing, low flow requirements for in-stream use, nonpoint source pollution, innovative waste treatment, on-site effluent disposal mound system evaluation, study of acid snow, effects of spray irrigation on wildlife, and acid mine drainage.
