In response to the increasing demand to achieve zero defects in design, operations, and maintenance, efforts are underway at many nuclear-power plants to reconstruct, validate, and document the plant design basis. Processes that implement and communicate changes to plant configuration are being updated to ensure that the plant baseline is maintained. Successful configuration management requires that the multiple organizations involved in plant work have ready accesses to meaningful, timely, and accurate information. This paper describes the development and integration of computer-based information systems to support the configuration management process at Comanche Peak Steam Electric Station.
