Composite-rim flywheels: spin tests

Two composite-rim flywheels of a size appropriate for use in a hybrid vehicle were designed. Each designed employed a different method of utilizing Kevlar 49/epoxy bands to attach the rim to an aluminum hub. Four prototype flywheels, two of each design, have been fabricated and spin tested.
