Dependence of the harmonic oscillator energy level spacing on the mass number of nuclei under the assumption of a trapezoidal average nuclear density

The variation of the harmonic oscillator energy level spacing hw with the mass number of nuclei is investigated under the assumption of a trapezoidal distribution for the average nuclear density and the results are compared with those obtained with a Fermi distribution. The dependence of the parameters on the mass number is also discussed.
