A general method for computing parasitic intercell currents in series connected electrochemical cells with common electrolytic path is described. This method covers systems operating with constant as well as variable parameters such as usually are encountered in practice. The Li/SOCl2 battery is selected to illustrate the evolution of parasitic intercell currents in the course of battery discharge. 9 references.
