CNG vehicles emerge

Interest in alternative fuel options for vehicles fluctuates with the availability and price structure of gasoline and diesel fuels. Of several feasible concepts that have been developed and tested, one has been in existence for more than half a century - compressed natural gas (CNG). With current technology, CNG offers an economical, safe, and ecological alternative for a large number of on-the-road vehicles. CNG fuel system characteristics and the present and future market for natural gas vehicles are discussed.
