Improving team performance

In recent years, nuclear power plant control room crews have participated in team skills training-for both initial training and requalification-to meet licensing requirements. Although this type of training serves an important purpose, there is increasing evidence that something beyond team skills training is necessary. Many operating crews at nuclear plants in the United States have sophisticated team skills, and they need a program that has advanced along with them. Team building is fast emerging as an effective approach for continued performance improvement.
