A QCD sum rule has been derived for the electromagnetic form factor of the pion in the region of a small spacelike momentum transfer, Q/sup 2/< or approx. =m/sup 2//sub rho/. The value found for the electromagnetic radius of the pion, 1/2 = 0.66 +- 0.03 fm, agrees well with experimental data.
