Wind energy demonstration project in cooperation with the US Fish and Wildlife Service: revised negative declaration and initial study

The project is a joint venture with the US Fish and Wildlife Service (FWS). The FWS would use the electricity in its Headquarters and Interpretive Center building and related facilities. Pacific Gas and Electric (PG and E) has agreed to buy any excess power produced. Upon completion of installation, the FWS will be responsible for operation, maintenance, and repair of the system. The California Energy Commission (CEC) will provide: funds for the purchase, delivery, and installation of a 25 kilowatt (kW) wind turbine; consultation for the wind display, graphics, and informational literature; supervision and coordination of the project between the FWS, PG and E, the manufacturer, and the CEC.
