A suspension system is described for a vehicle comprising a suspension arm connected to the vehicle body by way of a bushing, an adjustment means for changing the resistance of the bushing against a movement in the longitudinal direction of the vehicle body, a steering angle sensor for detecting the turning angle of the steering wheel of the vehicle, a vehicle speed sensor for detecting the speed of the vehicle, and control means for controlling the adjustment means to increase the hardness of the bushing against a movement in the longitudinal direction of the vehicle body as at least one of the steering angle and the vehicle speed is increased.
