The authors have investigated the reaction of gaseous H/sub 2/S with solutions of potassium, rubidium, and cesium hydroarsenates at different temperatures and pH values. The dihydromonothioarsenates of potassium, rubidium, and cesium have been synthesized: KH/sub 2/AsO/sub 3/S and CsH/sub 2/AsO/sub 3/S crystallize in the monoclinic, and RbH/sub 2/AsO/sub 3/S in the rhombic syngony. When heated to 180/degree/C the compounds slit off water and are converted to K(Rb, Cs)AsO/sub 2/S which are stable up to 300/degree/. Further heating results in the removal of arsenic and sulfur with the formation of the corresponding sulfides at 700/degree/. The dihydromonothioarsenates of potassium, rubidium, and cesium actively transform light with the wavelength of 1.06 ..mu..m to radiation with a wavelength of 0.503 ..mu..m.
