We have performed measurements of the microwave surface impedance [ital Z][sub [ital S]]=[ital R][sub [ital S]]+[ital iX][sub [ital S]] of the organic superconductor [kappa]-(BEDT-TTF)[sub 2]Cu(NCS)[sub 2] down to [ital T]=0.8 K. The reactance [ital X][sub [ital S]], and therefore the penetration depth [lambda], exhibits no temperature dependence for [ital T][much lt][ital T][sub [ital c]]. This result is in full agreement with calculations of the BCS ground state and gives no indication of unconventional pairing. Furthermore, we have evaluated the complex conductivity [cflx [sigma]]=[sigma][sub 1]+[ital i][sigma][sub 2] and find a pronounced peak in [sigma][sub 1] below [ital T][sub [ital c]] which can be identified as a coherence peak.
