As part of China's evaluation of foreign coal gasification technology an Advanced Coal Gasification Symposium was held in Beijing on September 20-28, 1982. The symposium was sponsored by the Beijing Energy Society with support from the Beijing Association for Science and Technology. These proceedings contain introductory remarks; descriptions of technical visits to the Beijing Iron and Steel Works, Coking and Chemical Works, and Research Institute of Coal Chemistry of the Beijing Coal Mining Research Institute; summaries and complete papers for the seven technical presentations given; and discussions. The papers relate to coal gasification and combined-cycle power generation. Papers have been indexed separately.
