Simulation of global wet and dry deposition of nitric acid in a three-dimensional chemistry-transport model

Estimated sources of NO/sub x/ in combustion are prescribed in the model as functions of latitude and longitude. The model calculates the conversion of NO/sub x/ to HNO/sub 3/, horizontal and vertical transport, and dry and wet deposition of these species. The calculated atmospheric distribution and deposition of NO/sub x/ and HNO/sub 3/ are compared with observations and found to be in general agreement. 16 refs., 6 figs.
