Reactions /sup 15/N(. gamma. ,d/sub 0/)/sup 13/C and /sup 13/C(d,. gamma. /sub 0/)/sup 15/N in the giant resonance region

The cross sections of /sup 15/N(..gamma..,d/sub 0/)/sup 13/C and /sup 13/C(d,..gamma../sub 0/)/sup 15/N have been measured. A resonance was observed at E/sub x/ approx. = 21.9 MeV in the (..gamma..,d/sub 0/) channel. Vector polarized deuterons were used to measure the angular distribution of gamma rays at this resonance and the results were analyzed assuming the two S = 1/2 E1 transition matrix elements are dominant.
