Electrodynamic response of Y/sub 1/Ba/sub 2/Cu/sub 3/O/sub y/ and La/sub 1. 85/Sr/sub 0. 15/CuO/sub 4-//sub delta/ in the superconducting state

Journal Article · · Phys. Rev. B: Condens. Matter; (United States)
Measurements of the temperature dependence of the surface resistance R/sub s/ at 9.85 GHz and the screening length delta/sub s/ at 1 MHz for the superconducting states of Y/sub 1/Ba/sub 2/Cu/sub 3/O/sub y/ and La/sub 1.85/Sr/sub 0.15/CuO/sub 4/ show strong correlations, suggesting that the superconducting state is the same in the two materials. While the overall temperature dependence of R/sub s/ is reasonably well described by the Bardeen-Cooper-Schrieffer (BCS) theory in the very dirty limit, additional features are seen in R/sub s/ and also in delta/sub s/ which suggest detailed deviations from the BCS s-wave state.
