Quenching of CN(A) v = 0,1 is measured for several molecules (O/sub 2/, N/sub 2/, H/sub 2/, NO, and CO/sub 2/). The possible pathways are discussed. C/sub 2/N/sub 2/ is photodissociated by radiation from an excimer laser, and the radiation from the CN(A-x) bands is then observed. (AIP)
