Multiple-opening bypass valve
The valve port seals of this bypass valve will be in a proper position regardless of the direction of the pressure differential acting across the valve when it is being operated. The bypass valve has telescoping inner and outer telescoping members and a slidable sleeve having seals inside and outside of that member. This sleeve is placed between and fluidly sealed to both tubular members to block openings between the respective ports through these members when the bypass valve is closed. As the bypass valve is operated, means responsive to the direction of the pressure differential acting across the valve shift the sleeve so that it will constitute a portion of the downstream member of the bypass valve and have its seals correctly positioned.
