Photolytic processes for measurement of combustion heats of formation and reaction rates: Progress report. [i-C/sub 3/H/sub 7/O radical]

Technical Report ·
OSTI ID:6086341
The alkoxy radicals (RO) are important intermediates in combustion of hydrocarbons. Laser-excited fluorescence is being used to detect RO. RO is produced by pulsed 10-Hz photolysis of RONO at 355 nm. The reaction rates of i-C/sub 3/H/sub 7/O with NO, O/sub 2/, CO, CH/sub 4/, and H/sub 2/ were measured. The emission bands and lifetime of i-C/sub 3/H/sub 7/O were studied. Attempts made to measure the heat of formation of CH/sub 3/O radicals were not yet successful. (DLC)
