This paper describes the UNIX kernel networking suppport developed to allow the LINCS communication architecture to be integrated into the Berkeley 4.2 operating system. It also describes the interaction between LINCS and UNIX when remote interprocess communication occurs. Features added to UNIX include lightweight system tasks, process interrupt tasks, task scheduling and multithreading within processes.
