Pseudotime function improves gas well analysis
The use of gas pseudotime recently has been presented as an improved way to analyze pressure transient tests in gas wells. The problem which requires the use of pseudotime is that most pressure transient solutions are for liquid flow with a constant value of the well-bore storage constant. Due to the high compressibility of gas, the well-bore storage constant can change dramatically in a test. The greatest need to account for this variation is when large drawdowns occur and significant storage exists. However, when large drawdowns occur in tight gas wells, the need for applying pseudotime may be present even when well-bore distortion is short. This HP-41C/CV program simplifies calculating the pseudotime function. The program requires the Petroleum Fluids Pac module for subroutine calculation of fluid properties. A bar code is provided for easy program input.
