This corrosion inhibitor composition may be used in acid solutions to decrease or inhibit the corrosion of metal in contact with the acid solutions. This method is particularly useful in the acidizing or treating of formations traversed by a borehole. This composition is said to be effective for relatively long periods of time and at relatively high temperatures. The corrosion inhibitor consists of specified amounts of an acetylenic alcohol or sulfide, an amine or nitrogen base compound, and an oxyalkylated naphthenic acid and optionally a solubilizer or diluent.
