This final volume of a three-volume work describes all aspects of the evaluation of water for pollution control, from the design of measurement systems, through techniques for sampling, monitoring and analysis, to data compilation and interpretation. Particular attention is given to statistical control, advanced instrumental analysis, interpretation of biological indicators of water quality, and the design of an average laboratory. Detailed reference methods are provided, giving internationally acceptable procedures which enable meaningful comparisons to be made between laboratories in different countries.
