Particle-rotor model calculation of /sup 109/Pd

An improved version of the particle-rotor model with an exact diagonalization of the pairing and the two-body recoil interactions has been applied to /sup 109/Pd. The difficulties related to the hoc Coriolis attenuation factor have disappeared and the low-spin antialigned states in /sup 109/Pd are well reproduced by the model.
