Conceptual design for safeguarding the LDP Liquid Metal Fast Breeder Reactor. [1000 MW(e)]

Conceptual safeguards system designs for the US 1000 MW(e) LMFBR are discussed in detail. Generalized factors to be considered in the design are presented, as are present applicable regulations and perceived future requirements. The systems address domestic and international concerns. Examples of safeguards system designs are described, and subsystem components are identified, as are areas where continuing research and development effort is necessary.
